My first experience at the Salone del Mobile di Milano, the world’s largest international design fair, was nothing short of inspiring. I was captivated by the fusion of design, sustainability, functionality, beauty, luxury, simplicity, and innovation. Each element seamlessly intertwined, presenting a vision of the future where aesthetics and purpose coexist harmoniously. The 2023 edition embraced a forward-thinking approach, highlighting eco-consciousness and sustainable materials, while maintaining an emphasis on refined luxury and groundbreaking innovation. It was a celebration of design that spoke to the senses, redefining how we interact with everyday spaces.
At the 2023 Salone del Mobile di Milano, I was struck not only by the innovation and elegance of the designs but also by the emphasis on natural materials like stone and wood, used in organic forms. These materials brought a sense of warmth and authenticity to the spaces. The color palette was a beautiful mix of earthy tones, grounding the designs, alongside vibrant hues that brought energy and life. This blend of nature and creativity reflected a deep respect for sustainability, while still pushing the boundaries of luxury and functional beauty. It was a sensory journey that redefined modern design for me.
In my photographs from the Salone del Mobile di Milano, I captured various types of lighting. I also had the opportunity to see installations from major brands up close, such as Gubi, Edra, Moooi, Flos, Vibia, Tom Dixon, Poliform, B&B Italia, and many others.
